Alzheimer. Arschloch. Algarve. - National Geographic

Alzheimer. Arschloch. Algarve. by Oliver Kneip (National Geographic, 2025) is a personal road-trip memoir about family, memory, and living with Alzheimer’s — told with warmth and some dark humor.

For the cover illustration, I worked with a restrained color palette and an open, spacious composition to create a feeling of gentle melancholy without tipping into sadness. Soft light, subtle movement, and a sense of horizon suggest both journey and emotional distance — echoing themes of fading memory, fragility, and enduring connection.
